Introducing the Ultraspec® Sidewall Retractor Solution
The gentle displacement of the sidewall prolapse, creating a clear, unobstructed view of the cervix area.
With increasing incidence of vaginal sidewall prolapse, the Ultraspec® Retractor provides a clear view of the cervix and the vagina.
Vaginal sidewall prolapse restricts the visibility and access to the cervix during procedures.
By simply fitting the vaginal sidewall retractor into an Ultraspec® speculum, the sidewalls are gently displaced laterally and a clear view of the cervix is created without having to remove the speculum.
Fewer patients need to undergo procedures under general anaesthetic due to a better view of the cervix, saving costs, streamlining patient care and reducing risk to patients.
With the Ultraspec® Sidewall Retractor Combo Kit, you get 10 x Ultraspec® Speculum and 10 x Ultraspec® Retractors, meaning you’re ready to examine the patient without fuss.
How to Use the Ultraspec® Sidewall Retractor
Select and appropriately sized Ultraspec® vaginal speculum.
Operate speculum as normal, locking open at the optimum position with the smooth-spinning nut (Minimum75% from fully open)
Should the cervix be obscured during vaginal examination, do not remove the speculum.
Gently insert the side-wall Retractor into the rear aperture of the Speculum. (Inserting the Retractor gently displaces the sidewalls laterally)
Proceed with the procedure with a clear and unobstructed view of the cervix area. (Potential damage to the sidewalls is minimised by the spoon-shaped beaks.)
Upon completion of the procedure, gently withdraw the Retractor by pulling the single tab.
Once the Retractor is removed, slowly release the speculum using the nut so blades are closed before withdrawing it.
Discard the used devices in standard clinical waste after single-use.
Please note: The Ultraspec® Sidewall Retractor is to be used with Ultraspec® Speculum only
